  • Restrictive diets that only led to more weight gain.
  • HIIT workouts that don't seem to do much but leave you exhausted.

  • Supplements or prescription meds from your doctor that just aren't working.
  • Vacations and retreats that uplift you for a week or two... until reality sinks back in.

It's frustrating to feel like you've tried it all, but nothing seems to work or 'stick'. You might be wondering if you're just broken and have to accept your new normal.

And if you're like many of my clients, your doctor has offered you little guidance other than to "relax" or "lose weight"- maybe even telling you you're "fine" and that your symptoms are all in your head.

Well, I have some news...

WHAT YOU'RE FEELING IS REAL.

AND IT'S REVERSIBLE.

BUT YOU NEED TO ADDRESS THE TRUE ROOTS OF YOUR SYMPTOMS.

And that root is STRESS- directly and indirectly, it impacts both your mental and physical health, resulting in the symptoms you're experiencing.

Sometimes this is called this adrenal fatigue or adrenal dysfunction, but the more accurate term is HPA Axis Dysregulation. That means that the communication network between your brain (hypothalamus & pituitary gland) and your adrenal glands- which together control your stress response- has become disrupted because you've been under so much stress. Stated simply, you're burnt out.

This is a rarely diagnosed phenomenon but it results in a weakened ability to respond to stress, and hormonal imbalance. Eventually, your body slows down to keep you safe. If it goes on for a while, more serious health issues can arise, like insulin resistance, high blood pressure, and autoimmune conditions (e.g., Hashimoto's).

I know that it can be hard for an independent, successful woman to ask for help. You should be able to fix yourself on your own, right?

Not necessarily. This is one of those times when continuing to push harder and go it alone can actually make things worse (ie, overachieving => underachieving). You need to ease up and heal smarter.

IN THRIVE, YOU'LL LEARN A NEW APPROACH

You need more than just quick fixes or more hard work. You need a plan to attack stress from all angles, and guidance + support from someone who's been there.

In THRIVE, we'll focus on:

1. TARGETED NUTRITION  Most likely, food is the source of many of your symptoms- the wrong foods can even add stress to your body, making you feel worse. In THRIVE we use food as medicine to balance your hormones, stabilize your blood sugar, and heal your gut. Result? Your energy returns, stress weight falls off, and other symptoms begin slipping away.

2. NERVOUS SYSTEM REGULATION You've been in fight-or-flight mode for too long! And the truth, is you can't heal while your stress response is stuck in the "on" position. In THRIVE you'll implement daily practices to shift you (and your nervous system) out of survival mode, plus techniques to keep you calm and focused in high stress moments. Equally important, we'll dive deep to identify your main stress triggers and strategize how to eliminate them and break you free from patterns leading to burnout.

3. JOY This is the piece of the puzzle that's forgotten far too often! Research shows that joy, fun, and social connection have a positive impact on our health- and that that their absence can lead to chronic disease. Women experiencing stress, burnout, and adrenal dysfunction often fall short in the joy department. That's why in THRIVE we make an explicit effort to ensure you refuel with joy & pleasure, (re)connect with your passions, and establish balance in your life.

This holistic approach, personalized for you, is what makes THRIVE work.

Over 6 months, you'll learn exactly how to implement the THRIVE formula in a way that aligns with your goals + life. Bit by bit, you'll overcome logistical and mindset obstacles- like perfectionism and people pleasing- so that you don't fall back into old habits.

YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO:

  • ENERGY You'll supercharge your physical, mental, and emotional energy so that you can make an impact in your career, be there for the people you love the most, and reconnect with hobbies and activities that truly bring you joy.
  • RELIEF Stress-related health symptoms will lift away: insomnia, brain fog, weight gain, poor digestion/IBS, low/no libido, PMS or (peri) menopausal symptoms, and improved bloodwork (e.g. cholesterol, A1C, blood pressure)
  • EASE You'll learn to effectively handle stress so that you experience less anxiety & overwhelm, and feel confident that even though you can "do it all", you don't have to.

And RESILIENCY: you'll develop the ability to recognize when you're headed toward burnout again, and nip it in the bud before your energy and overall health feels the impact.


WHO IS RIGHT FOR THRIVE?

The fact is, I can only accept a limited number of clients at any given time, and I only work with women who are prepared to show up and take action.

At its core, healing burnout is a process involving body, mind, and spirit. You must be ready for a new level of personal growth and have the attitude and drive to make the most of your time in THRIVE to get there!

It's my MISSION to support ambitious women with big dreams heal their health and get back to living fulfilling lives, but we must make sure you are qualified before we commit to working together.

THRIVE IS FOR YOU IF:

  • You're struggling with one or more of the following symptoms: stress & overwhelm, fatigue, brain fog, poor sleep, weight gain, IBS, low/no libido, & feeling "burnt out". And you're overwhelmed about where to start dealing with it all.
  • You've been diagnosed with a chronic disease or autoimmune condition or told you're at risk for developing one.
  • Your health is impacting your work, relationships, family life, and body confidence, and frankly, you're tired of it.
  • You've got big life goals but your health is making you doubt you'll ever achieve them.
  • You know it's time to make changes- especially in your diet and daily routines- and you want support and guidance in the process so you can heal more quickly and sustainably. 
  • You're tired of your doctor telling you you're "fine", when you know you're not. Or telling you to "relax" or "lose weight" with no guidance on how to do it. You're ready to take your health into your own hands and to step into your power as the expert on your own body.

THRIVE IS NOT FOR YOU IF:

  • You're looking for a quick fix. Sustainable change takes time- that's why THRIVE lasts 6 months.
  • Your only interest is weight loss.
  • You never seem to find time for your health, and aren't ready to make it a priority.
  • You're not prepared to make changes to diet and daily routines. The precise action steps you take each week will be yours to choose, but you must be willing to take consistent action.
  • You're not willing to be coached or to step outside your comfort zone.
  • You have a serious health issue that is not being overseen by a doctor yet. THRIVE can complement your overall health strategy, but I cannot diagnose conditions or prescribe medications.

HOW WE'LL WORK TOGETHER IN THRIVE


THRIVE is a 1-1 private coaching program. That means personalized support and guidance from me through the entire 6 months.

When we speak, I’ll explain it all in detail.

For now, what’s most important to know is that THRIVE has 3 main components...

ASSESS & ENVISION

We start with a 90-minute coaching session to set foundations for the next 6 months. Together, we'll conduct an in-depth assessment of the current state of your health and daily habits, and get crystal clear on your goals and broader vision not only for your health but for your life, too. From there, we'll co-create your 6-month action plan.

CONNECT & TAKE ACTION

Through 11 bi-weekly coaching sessions, held over Zoom, I'll help you implement your action plan, support you in overcoming obstacles, hold you accountable, and help you pivot when needed. In between sessions, I'll support you through email and text so you're never alone in your health journey.

LEARN & GROW

You'll have access to all the resources you need on your health journey. For example: meal prep guidance, nutrition facts, personalized recipe collections, strategies for de-stressing + understanding your body's stress response, and journaling prompts to help you overcome big stressors and keep moving forward.

Jennifer N. Costanza, PhD

I'LL BE YOUR GUIDE THROUGH THRIVE.

As an Ivy League-educated PhD and former sociology professor, I know from experience how a high-pressure, passion-driven career path can lead to burnout and wreak havoc on your health. I understand the burden of perfectionism that most women experience on a daily basis that leads us to de-prioritize our core needs. And I know what it’s like to wake up one day, look into the mirror, and wonder "who is this?" and "how the heck did I get here?"

That was my life not long ago.

And so I embarked on a healing journey. I turned to food and went to culinary school to learn to prepare nutritious meals that actually taste good. I became an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and completed additional specialized training in gut health, breathwork, and working with trauma.

I healed my body, got back my energy, and learned to control stress- instead of allowing it to control me. The intense drive that had propelled me so far in my academic career reawakened, but I've redirected it towards helping women like you ditch burnout and transform your life by taking control of your health, using the same evidence-based, holistic approach that's worked for me.

When Consuelo first reached out to me, her stress was at an 11 out of 10, she was exhausted all the time, and had been diagnosed with high cholesterol. Her doctor wanted to put her on medication, but Consuelo knew deep inside that there had to be a better way.

Over the course of her time in THRIVE, she gradually reworked her diet and began integrating stress management practices like breathwork and meditation into her daily life. By the end of the program, she no longer felt stress controlled her- instead, she was in control. She lost 10 lbs and lowered her cholesterol 30 points, removing the need for medication. With her newfound energy, Consuelo created a wellness program for military and veteran caregivers, and is now starting a non-profit organization.

I made some small changes to my diet, started walking and exercising, and carving out time for myself in the morning. To say Alice was "tired" when she joined THRIVE would be an understatement. She wanted to nap every day and was struggling to balance a demanding career and two young kids. That stress- plus working from home for almost two years- was taking a toll. She knew she was working too much (often on weekends when she'd rather do fun stuff with her kids), felt frustrated and unsatisfied with her job, and admitted she was not taking good care of her health. She wanted to make changes in her health and career, but didn't know where to start or how to stay consistent.

We first got clear on Alice's goals- she had to get very honest with herself about what she wanted when it came to her career and how she wanted her daily life to look. This wasn't easy to figure out! We worked through some of her beliefs about what "success" looked like, so she could re-define it in her own terms.

Next, Alice started putting healthy habits in place: adjusting her diet, and finding ways to de-stress. She experimented to discover out what worked best for her. Once Alice started prioritizing her health and feeling better physically, she began taking bolder action at work: asking for what she wanted and setting firm boundaries around her time and what projects she was willing to take on. This required a lot of mindset work. Like so many brilliant, high performing women, Alice experienced imposter syndrome, which led her to work more than necessary and worry deeply about her performance- when all evidence indicated she was excelling at her job.

Alice is now on the path to a more fulfilling role that allows her to have the work-life balance she desires, while continuing to care for her own mental and physical health.
